Tomorrow I'm internally celebrating the end of my second month in the new job. It's still going well, I'm still enjoying it, and today, the colleague I work the closest with paid me the nicest compliment while we were in a Teams call (we were both working from home) - he said I wasnt irritating. 🤭😁
Last month, when the temps were truly testing my Nordic sensibilities, we invested in a mobile AC unit (currently second best buy of 2026!!). I'm working from home (I have a fab employer) and mentioned to Him Indoors about turning the AC on today, and he said, "Have fun using the Breeze Block." 😂😂
Ah, summer... that time of year when you play hunt the colleague's nominated cover person, who themself also seems to be on their summer holiday!! 🤪🫣

Things I'm grateful for... Cutting my long hair four weeks ago. Long hair and hot summers don't mix well! These fancy cooling cloths... whoever developed that technology, bravo! I know they're aimed at the sports world, but I'm having me some of that! Mobile aircon... praise all the gods!!

Good morning on this Summer Solstice day... Currently a "cool" 24°C, with cloudy skies, and a storm predicted, but who knows if that will arrive. Hope you're staying cool and enjoying your first morning drink wherever you are in the world.
Today we enjoyed a lunch out in Frankfurt with some friends - gorgeous day, as evidenced by that blue sky, and our meal at Zum Schwarzen Stern was top notch, as per usual! He went for the Schweinshaxe and I opted for their summer offering of grilled octopus with jasmine rice instead of gnocchi.
You know you've truly integrated when your neighbours are ignoring the fact it's a Feiertag, aka a Ruhetag, and you're being forced to listen your least favourite music genre (hip-hop), which they're playing very loudly... *sigh*
