I'm a delegate to Labour Party Conference 2026

This year's Labour Party Conference will be a huge moment for advancing the radical realist politics at the heart of our common project as Mainstream. We're backing a team of progressive National Pol...

Reform want to rip away vital PIP support from disabled people. Labour is extending free bus travel for disabled people. Reform is basically Farage. Without him, thereโ€™s not much left. Thatโ€™s also their biggest problem. Heโ€™s now becoming their biggest liability, and dragging their popularity down with him. The Farage problem is becoming a Reform problem. With him or without him, ultimately they're toast.

Reform could slip to third in polls, pollsters warn as Farageโ€™s popularity plummets

Experts say Farage โ€˜provided the motor for their riseโ€™ but is โ€˜currently providing the motor for their declineโ€™

Good luck to everyone receiving their results today, whether it be A-levels, AS levels, BTECs, T Levels or other qualification. Got the grades you wanted? Celebrate. If things havenโ€™t gone to plan, don't panic. Some of the best journeys in life aren't the ones we originally planned. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Andy Burnham gets accused of grabbing opportunities. And? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ But he's also prepared to grasp the nettles. And that's what makes him different. Social care is the problem politicians have dodged for decades. He's choosing to take it on. I like that.

Decidly odd not to be voting for @annblack.bsky.social in this year's NEC election. Someone who helped me numerous times with issues and queries when I was a CLP chair. Its great to see her endorse our Mainstream NEC team. People I know will bring the same commitment to our members as Ann did!

For 25 years, @annblack.bsky.social has championed party members on Labour's NEC. We're thrilled that she's backing Cat Arnold, Kerry Postlewhite and Jovan Owusu-Nepaul this year. Support the Mainstream team to continue Ann's tireless commitment to transparency and democracy ๐Ÿ‘‡

Cat Arnold was elected to the NEC in 2024 as part of a hastily assembled womenโ€™s mini-slate. She is committed to accountability, and since joining the NEC she asks all the questions which I asked when elected back in 2000. Given time she may even be able to track down some answers. She has just been elected as the joint NEC vice-chair for women, and her statement is here.

Jovan Owusu-Nepaul worked for the partyโ€™s equalities team, and stood as the Labour candidate in Clacton in 2024. Few people know more about campaigning against the Faragists, and after he visited Oxford I can recommend him highly as a speaker for party meetings. His statement is here.

Kerry Postlewhite was also a parliamentary candidate in 2024, and can empathise with the experiences of candidates and members in non-priority seats. She worked for the Socialist Group of MEPs, including Labour MEPs, for more than ten years. Her statement is here.

Happy Birthday to the NHS. ๐Ÿ’™ Built by Labour. Underfunded by the Tories. Targeted for privatisation by Reform. We'll keep fighting for an NHS that's free at the point of use, because healthcare should not depend on your bank balance. Thank you to every NHS worker, past and present ๐Ÿ™
