Kinda nice to hear a Senate candidate say "no such thing as other people's children." More of this please
El-Sayed: "My commitment to Jewish safety is the same commitment that I have to the safety of my own daughters. Because if there is one question of political philosophy that ought to animate us all, it's what would we do if we treated all our kids like they were all of our kids?"
No spoilers but I made the most undignified sound when the second backing track came in
Oh my god I think I found the video.
HIS OWN SPOX SAID "Scott wrote the landmark AI safety laws serving a model for the rest of the country." If that """safety""" law allows for this stunt, I don't want him anywhere near federal lawmaking www.sfgate.com/politics/art...
Wiener, backed by Anthropic PAC, uses Claude to skewer his SF rival
Scott Wiener's team said launching an AI ad is on par for San Francisco politics.

I must inform you that Rebecca Black’s “Friday” just went platinum, according to the RIAA. www.riaa.com/gold-platinu...
Insane long shot but can anyone smarter than me confirm if the proposed Senate CR's language about the OMB grant rule specifically addresses Executive Order #14332? It's, uh, urgently important for work
Democratic Party leadership can be infuriating but here's a great reminder that regular people are the organizing power who write the party platform, and those regular people are good folks
In addition to endorsements, California Democrats also passed resolutions and reaffirmations at this past weekend's conference. Proud to have worked with many others on this one, "Standing Firmly Behind Transgender Youth", calling for defending healthcare, student-athlete protections, and more. 🏳️⚧️
I truly, genuinely, 100% seriously, would be stunned if this weren't legally actionable, either criminal or defamatory. Holy shit
Scott Wiener is so fucking creepy!!! making an AI chatbot of your woman opponent so she says all the things your campaign wants her to say is deeply misogynistic!!! holy shit!!!
I took a deep dive up thread and down the quoted chains and I cannot shake the feeling that Freeman built her claims with a Lying Larceny Machine. The part where her own work does not include one of the allegedly "stolen" bits (grandma's eye color??) is the most suspicious
One of her many large documents is a list of all the places she claims Tracy copied her and it looks like this. And I think people who were first evaluating this online just looked at all the yellow and was like "oh my god, that's so much yellow!" But if you actually read it...
For this reason, many pro-housing organizations such as East Bay for Everyone oppose Prop 45. We want to be build homes in existing cities, not spraw in wildfire zones. Prop 45 would also make it easier to widen highways - but wouldn't do anything for high speed rail. 2/ bsky.app/profile/east...
Thanks to the important CEQA reform passed last year, the @calchamber.bsky.social BACA measure does nothing for the infill housing we need. What it does do is streamline everything from sprawl detached housing to highways to data centers. Read more: eastbayforeveryone.org/2026/03/05/s...
Extremely pleased to report that Rikki's is PACKED for the Firebells game
Isekai as a genre is exploding in popularity because it appeals to a universal desire to get hit by a truck rather than live in the 21st century.
i bring a sort of ‘i fear neither pain nor death’ energy to the pedestrian/driver interaction that drivers don’t really like
Does anyone know the WPBL site admin, because I think they need to fix their time zone settings
I never thought of myself as a summer girly but the arc of berries-stone fruit-corn is hard to deny
I'm not entirely sure I believe the bike shop when they say my thighs are so powerful they destroyed a gearset that should have lasted a lifetime, but I'll take the compliment
The Odyssey sure is a claustrophobic movie for something shot on as big a format they could make it
Has anyone else been having a problem where every news website suddenly uses something called Admiral to detect ad blockers, and it prevents you, who DOES NOT USE AN AD BLOCKER, from viewing their websites?
the docs are amazing here. OpenAI actually produced an infographic to highlight how in their entire history, they've donated a whopping $800K to local civic causes the Mayor just out here trying to do reputation cleanup for OpenAI and they're just "nah we already gave 47% of a public toilet"
Records obtained by the Chronicle reveal how the mayor has unsuccessfully sought to get the maker of ChatGPT to step up its involvement in the city as its technology reshapes the economy.
[dog trying to eat shit straight out of the litter box] listen I’m just trying to show you that not everyone who eats shit is acting in bad faith, we have some sincere shit-eaters out here

Call me extreme but I think this story should be the only thing anyone ever says to an Anthropic employee. "What do you do? Oh, the company that burns books for profit?"
‘Anthropic described the project as “our effort to disruptively scan all the world’s books” in an internal memo, which noted “we do not want it to be known that we are pursuing this project”.’
I know we lost the fight over cashless businesses during peak covid but "exact cash required, no change given" at a Rockridge bakery feels super illegal
As someone who grew up in both Michigan and Pennsylvania, this shit rocks
Lol fuck off that’s cool as hell
When the MASCOTs plan was laid out, some people observed that the new plan would probably screw some late-night commuters. If that did come to pass, these results are an excellent example of how tradeoffs can still net out positively
I've posted about MASCOTs a few times, the N. Bay integrated transit plan. It's such a good news story, where several service providers came together to remove duplicative service and create an operator-agnostic plan. SMART ridership is way up, and GGT is up 22% even with 12% fewer service hours!
