Micro optimization in .NET when it comes to AI token consumption - implicit usings turned on means less verbosity which means less tokens used when reading in files.

Had a blast speaking at Build, visiting GitHub HQ for the first time, and seeing old friends and making new ones. Looking forward to coming back to San Fran for GitHub Universe later this year! #MSBuild

Still surreal to have been on .NET Rocks, a show I've been listening, learning, and laughing with for over a decade. Hope people found something useful out of this!

What settings, configurations, and workflows do you use for every .NET app you build? @ScottSauber.com talks on .NET Rocks at www.dotnetrocks.com/details/2004 about his list - from organizing folders by feature to logging, security, and testing!

T minus 10 mins until I go live talking about this at SDD London. We’ve got 90 minutes instead of 60 like I’m used to - so interested to show a lot more things including AI tools. Spoiler: it’s way more than 10 things!

Today I’m giving a talk on “Practical AI Tooling Tips for the Too Busy Developer” at the Iowa .NET User Group. I’ll be talking about the latest and greatest in AI tooling, how you should be using tools like Copilot and Claude, and discussing some things released this week! 🧵

On Thursday I’ll be presenting on “Practical AI Tooling Tips For The Too Busy Developer” at @iadnug.org both in person and on Zoom. I’ll be talking about Context, Instructions, Skills, Hooks, and more and showing some live demos with Copilot and Claude. Sign up in the thread below.

In 45 minutes I’ll be talking about “You’re doing Agile right, but agile wrong” in Room 1 at NDC London. Yes we are still talking about agile in 2026. Somewhere along the way we lost sight of the Manifesto, but I’ll bring it all back and tell you what I’ve seen work and doesn’t.

Half way home back to Iowa. I had a blast at @codemash.bsky.social Special shout out to 5 of the people from my workshop who filled out feedback! Really appreciate you taking the time to do so. Sidenote to other CodeMash speakers that you can find Feedback in Sessionize!
