Is there anyone in my network running production applications on @vercel.com ? And if so, could you spare me 15 minutes to chat about how you're using it? How you think about architecting applications on the Vercel platform and any challenges you see. #serverless #vercel #developers

Storytelling is such a HUGE part of creating content for me, whether it's conference talks or videos. I've been playing around the last couple of weeks with taking this to another level with a bit of hand drawn animations. #architecture #systemsdesign #animations #storytelling

Consistent humanism means opposing the genocide in Gaza, AND antisemitism. It means opposing the US/Israeli invasion of Iran AND the Iranian regime's murder of its own people. It means opposing the US/UK invasion of Iraq AND the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It means confronting violence everywhere.
"The speech today, the agenda the government's got - it doesn't speak to the moment" - @elliechowns.bsky.social Unlike Labour, the Green Party has a clear plan to tackle the issues that people care about: cost of living, wealth inequality and action on the climate and nature emergency.
No one expected Keir Starmer to solve our pressing problems overnight. But what we did expect – and had every right to expect – was that he would lay out a clear vision and roadmap for doing so. Instead, we’ve had drift, appeasement and a startling absence of ideas, values and ambition. 🧵1/6

Serverless ❤️ OpenTelemetry - Better Together Just because you're building serverless applications doesn't mean you can't get value from OpenTelemetry. In fact, I'd recommend it. Find out how in this weeks video. #serverless #opentelemetry #dotnet youtu.be/y4517SxUH_s

Ergodicity - a word that sounds complicated but is vitally important not only for software architecture but also for day to day life. Recently I took a deep dive into the concept, and threw together some notes. blog.jameseastham.co.uk/blog/2026-04...
Yep Mythos is definitely such a powerful tool. I believe you @anthropic.com . A curious decision to not use it on your own systems, but I'm sure you know what you are doing and we can believe every word you say. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Every time I hear an exec of a tech company, an AI company, or some billionaire talk about how AI is going to change industry X it makes me sad. Obviously the idea of not having to pay people makes you want that outcome. Yet sometimes I feel like there's only a subset of the world who sees it 🤷🏻
Also, how you can trust a thing that hallucinates (no matter how little) is beyond me
I’m hearing a lot of questions in the tech space lately about how to make customers trust AI and agents Tbh I think coming in with: “adopt AI or die” “we stole this data so what” “who cares about the data center energy consumption” framings kinda nuked a lot of trust opportunities.
At this point the only reason to call it the Labour Party is it lasts too long, hurts like hell, and people keep popping in and out to check on your genitals.

It doesn't need to be this way. The Green Party are the alternative. Check us out in this weeks New Statesman and: Join.greenparty.org.uk

And that's a big hard nope from me. I was already on the 'avoid the US bandwagon'. Not a change I want a non deterministic, hallucinating anywhere near landing planes full of hundreds of people thanks.

I'm sorry but I really struggle to understand shit like this. Amazon invest in Anthropic who agree to buy Amazon chips. It's all feels very you scratch my back I'll scratch yours to make all of our numbers look better. Shareholder value at all costs right! As long as the line goes up all is good.
The investment is the latest example of circular financing during the AI boom—the practice of tech companies investing in AI startups to help the latter buy products or services from the original investors.
The post-AI-bubble regulation should start by making it illegal to do circular deals - money invested cannot be used to pay for services, money invested cannot be used for buying hardware, etc, etc. Hell, I'm game for making it illegal to invest in customers at all.

Microsoft: "We are adding Copilot AI to all our products, and if that means building datacenters that will consume more power than a small city, that's the price we all have to pay." Also Microsoft: "Whoa there skippy! Showing SECONDS in your system tray clock uses more power! You sure about this?"
So what they're saying is they can be automated and should be let go for cost efficiencies.
