Do I have any followers here that are experts or expert-adjacent with SEM, either with Lavaan or in Jamovi? I have a complex problem/analysis that I am struggling to put together.

Let's say I'm a researcher in a politically controversial topic: flu and hepatitis vaccines for children. I study interventions to increase vaccine uptake. Would I be doing "activist science" given the anti-vaxx political movement & anti-vaxx govt actions here in the US? (Inspired by #SPSP2026)
Hi folks! We are conducting a meta-analysis examining the relationship between different facets of gender or gender-related essentialism and prejudice against transgender people. Therefore, we are requesting your unpublished data to include in the meta-analysis! The inclusion criteria are: 🧵
Does anyone in my network have access to the System Justification Scale that they’d be willing to share?
Really great advice that I’m receiving far too late in my career
Just finished my last class of the semester🎉Reminded of how much I love teaching this academic writing class for grad students. We focus on improving our writing but also reducing anxiety and becoming a more consistent & productive writer Some of the students favorite writing tips/learnings below:

Hi all! I have study planned and need some community assistance. If you’ve seen articles/headlines that contain misinformation about DEI, could you please send these my way?
Really great here from @tspampatti.bsky.social. I have a plan for a set of projects designed to start empirically exploring these directions that I’m really excited about. Happy to discuss/collaborate on those plans!
In this new Commentary in @natclimate.nature.com, I reflect on the recent focus on truth discernment in #misinfo research and argue that this outcome alone may not be beneficial to society if interventions do not improve behaviour and other outcomes because... 1/ www.nature.com/articles/s41...
If this is helpful for anyone going on the social psych tenure track job market in US, here are my Colby (in 2018) and UIC (2023) statements: osf.io/ef7s3/files/... My lab website has links to other people's materials. Of course the markets were very different back then. www.pbandjlab.com/resources

So no federal funding for me. This really helps science.
BIG: A new executive order changes fundamentally how the U.S. awards research grants, giving oversight to political appointees in coordination with OMB. All new grant opportunities are paused until these appointees are in place. www.whitehouse.gov/presidential...
If anyone is curious about the current list of search terms being used by right wing activist organizations to harass university professors, here's a public records request I received today from Mike Howell of the Heritage Foundation. Not intimidating or meant to curtail by my speech at all, right?
It feels like every new psych job is either computational or ai-based research. Doesn’t bode well for people who do other great research that doesn’t fall into these niche categories.
Boards of Trustees ***LIKE*** the Trump demands. They ***AGREE*** with them. They like the idea of putting the screws on activist, lefty, and Muslim students. They like the idea of a whiter student body and conservative curriculum. They want these things and think $200 million is a fair price.
Newly accepted in PSPB! We examined whether Asian and Black Americans perceived one another through a zero-sum lens. Inspired by the SCOTUS affirmative action decisions, I wanted to know if Asians thought they were losing to Black people and how this mindset affects coalition osf.io/preprints/ps...

BREAKING: Scientists are staging a “science fair” in the lobby of a Congressional building to tell elected officials about the critical knowledge the US will lose because their research grants have been canceled.
In a study of professors, women got 378 new work requests over 4 weeks vs 118 for men. Women spent more time on service, advising & teaching; men on research. Orgs should track who is taking extra duties & ensure they are rewarded and distributed fairly. www.forbes.com/sites/kimels...
Being Too Helpful At Work Can Hurt Your Career—Here’s How To Say No
Women are more likely to take on behind-the-scenes duties at work—extra tasks like onboarding or event planning—and it's hurting their careers. Here's how to say no.

Some very exciting life news: as of yesterday, I have officially accepted a TT assistant professor position at Monmouth University! Feeling very excited about what comes next and I thank everyone who has supported me throughout the years in achieving this!
Has anyone refinanced their federal student loans? If so, was it worth it? The unfortunate side of graduating is that now I must pay and I’m trying to figure out the best path forward.
I graduated this past weekend and immediately changed my signature to Sean Bogart, Ph.D.
The highlighted speaks perfectly to the effects of informational gist on misinformation susceptibility by Langdon and colleagues. I just had hoped prominent media wouldn’t perpetuate this kind of irresponsible reporting. psycnet.apa.org/record/2024-...

We are currently watching the best researchers science has to offer systematically be stripped of their ability to share critical knowledge - Franki is firmly in that category. This is horrifying to watch unravel. All the best to Franki and everyone affected.
I'm disappointed to share that my NSF career grant on anti-Asian dehumanization was terminated. This affects ongoing project activities, which have shown great progress so far, and support for my research team and more. I'm sad to share that the hiring of the postdoc role is currently on pause.
I just found out today that another post doc I was a finalist for had to be removed due to funding cuts. I cannot understate just how hard it is to be searching for academic positions under this administration. My heart goes out to all folks who have had their funding cut. May your research thrive.
If you’re comfortable, here’s a form to submit info on terminated NSF grants for greater collective transparency and insight among grantees: Kudos to @scott-delaney.bsky.social for putting together. airtable.com/appGKlSVeXni...
Let’s be clear - they’re not just deleting DEI policies and code words, they’re deleting actual people of color and women. www.washingtonpost.com/science/2025...
Extremely disappointing & cowardly. The American Psychological Association is rescinding diversity requirements. Not due to any actual mandate from the federal government, but only because it may *someday* face pressure from the government www.nytimes.com/2025/03/27/h...

It is very difficult being post-doc seeker with the funding freezes. The emotional toll of the market is notably exacerbated by what’s happening. I also recognize how difficult this time is for those with funding already, who are either losing (or under threat of losing) their jobs. It’s no fun.
Self-promotion: I successfully passed my dissertation defense today! To finally pass that last hurdle is exciting, relieving, and exhausting, but it is, at this point, my proudest accomplishment. A huge thank you to all who have supported me on this journey.
One final time: I am on the post-doc market! I have primary interests in pol. ID motivational explanations for misinfo and hostility towards DEI. I have a lot of work in closing stages, and a lot of future ideas for great work that would be a strong addition to a lab. Please share far and wide!
Thank you @lkfazio.bsky.social for covering this and a huge thanks to @shaunambowes.bsky.social for inviting me to be a part of such an amazing symposium this year! #SPSP2025
