Found a bunch of monarch caterpillars this afternoon. I love these guys.

Back in Winnipeg, getting started on guiding the Big Five tour to Riding Mountain National Park and Churchill, Manitoba. Heading out by bus tomorrow for a few days, but we will be flying north later this week. They are a fun group so far so I think it’s going to be a good trip.

I was blessed with a truly magical moment with these two coyote puppies while out on the kayak last night. They were so cute and curious. 🌿

Found some lovely obedient plant, so named because when you push on the blossoms, they will move to where you put them. It is part of the mint family.

One of two bears I spotted on my drive back home the other day. Always nice to see them looking so healthy.

My neighbour let me come over to check out the cool slime mould growing on a tree in her yard. This is a chocolate tube slime mould (Stemonitis sp.)

Periodical reminder that Many-plume Moths exist. And they always seem to end up on the inside of my bathroom window. And they pack a LOT of "amazeballs" into a teeny package - 1cm wingspan (just under 1/2") Montana six-plume moth (Alucita montana) #inverts #becurious 1/2

These juvenile ravens were both hungry and hot, opening their mouths to thermoregulate. However, they definitely wouldn't have refused their parents coming by with a beak full of fishflies. #birds
