it is after midnight, my book lays completed on the nightstand, and i turn over, restless. my mind wandering, i suddenly feel a concentration of cold air upon my arm as though some great beast is looming over me in the dark. i turn, startled, but there is nothing there.

why is it always a friday night or saturday morning that i'm troubleshooting hardware issues or bsods

i was once invited to participate in a brainstorming session at my (now) former workplace to determine methods for attracting the best candidates for roles at the organization. popular ideas included massive invasions of privacy via social media to find out info about candidates personal lives.

I made a machine steal the work of a real human being. It's almost as if the stolen work it regurgitated seems like it was written by a real human being. Instead of giving that credit to the breathing person it was stolen from... perhaps the theft machine is actually alive??
