I used to have this reader forum thing from TV Guide hanging on my wall. Person was complaining about there being "too much sex everywhere. Why do we need to see sex all the time. I like cartoons." The moderator responded as follows. "If you're over the age of nine, you may have a problem."
I've had these exact arguments with folks here and elsewhere. No, I don't believe in trigger warnings. You do you, just stick to YA if you can't handle real life. Which is ugly, more than it ever is beautiful. But that's the trick. It's from experiencing all that you learn to appreciate the good.
