Happy birthday, President Barack Obama “Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”

This is a tiny, microscopic, minimal, vanishingly-small, nanoscale proportion of the white... Oh, what's the use? Not even repeated repetition can convince me of the truth of that cliché. Not any longer. <Weeps>

The entirety of the NHS, from inception, was made possible thanks to non-white immigrants. Every accusation is a confession. They don’t want talented people regardless of skin colour. They just want white people regardless of skills.

On a trip down memory lane (sentimental, I know), I came upon this assertion by the US President that there were 21 trillion illegals in America (million million=trillion, right?). More than the global population. I remember at the time thinking it odd nobody seemed to pick up on that. #history

Screen-grab from Trumpstruths.com from a copy of Donald J. Trump's Truth Social post dated May 26, 2025, showing the first four lines, which read [oh God, do I really have to retype all this? Very well, but I'm not doing it in capitals]: "Happy Memorial Day to all, including the scum that spent the last four years trying to destroy our country through warped radical left minds, who allowed 21,000,000 million people to illegally enter our country, many of them being". It's the split infinitive that really hurts.

Interesting how the Greeks now qualify as “white” among groups who have viewed Mediterranean peoples as candidly not quite the thing. The Odyssey’s unwhite Helen, they say, betrays Homer. I say the poet is well-served, with his Then matchless beauty played by the Now matchless beauty. Can’t wait!

And Poe, Somerset Maugham, Faulkner, Tennyson, Anonymous—the list is endless. My own preference – for what it's worth – is the less-dashing, looser-fitting en dash. But my background is humble newspapers, not Proud Academe—and besides, whores are more fun than strait-laced patriarchs (so I'm told).

"Writers have been using me long before AI. I am the punctuation equivalent of a cardigan—beloved by MFA grads, used by editors when it’s actually cold, and worn year-round by screenwriters. I am not new here. I am not novel. I’m the cigarette you keep saying you’ll quit."
