I can't underscore this enough- Kennedy's word is worthless. He says whatever he needs to say to maximize the power he holds and he tells baldfaced lies without flinching (just look at his confirmation hearings). He actively ignores the evidence- it's been shown to him many times.

Creationists sometimes speak very beautifully about science too. Be serious, we know what Kennedy believes. All such a speech suggests is that he might intend to subvert the agency to his ends instead of destroying it wholesale.
