currently working on getting better as a mecha drawer/designer

feel like i've figured out what's bugging me. earlier i thought the seat looked too short so i extended it, but now that i have most of the motorcycle done the seat throws the rest of the proportions off...... it's the common trap with perspective drawings, sometimes it'll look off until the end

i'm going to get some markers in a few days, but it might still take a while before i post anything in color..... when i cross that bridge though, my drawings will finally look good in that HEISEI-VHS filter everyone was using!!!

oh jeeze oh gosh uh people are following me from the starter pack again........ hello everyone i am kind of a bum for real, and all the accounts i repost are better at drawing than me so please consider giving them a look and following them as well

LRP: "melon amos" is my favorite bit...... i have to wonder if tomino had been planning that since the design stage or if that joke was made on the spot. i've thought "mustache gundam" was kind of the same bit but it's probably a coincidence.............

i wanted to get this done before the end of august but it ended up being a lot more daunting than i thought it'd be.... i'm not sure how much of the motor i actually want to detail. most of it can be in hard shadow........ also the front disk brakes look like a pain in the butt to draw too

rough sketch of a sportbike pointing at the right side of the foreground. some of the bodywork and frame are done but the motor, front fork, wheels, and handlebars are either in a rough state or are completely missing

i think out of the profile pictures i tried, it's between this current one and the dragon quest trauminator. i feel like i'm less picky about emblems than robot designs, though....... ideally i'll make a really satisfying robot design in color one day and that'll end up being my pfp

I am in search of interior line artists who like drawing mecha and anticipate having about 32 pages worth of time over the next six months or so. Please share your portfolios. I know that the commission-me-now bots don't actually read posts, but if you are a bot I shall cry.

Oh heck yeah 3.5k followers, about time I went and did an... ◢ ⭕ ART SHARE ⭕ ◣ ◈ Share your work ◈ Support one another ◈ Repost for visibility ◈ Drag your friends into this ◈ Will repost for the next 24hours ❌ No NFT, No AI bullshit ❌ #artshare I #art

A Del variant in the Singalise universe, armed with an SMG, with a giant multi-armed MYNAH stood behind her. Between them is the words 'You broke our promise' Behind the main character in large white words is are the words 'ART SHARE' and 'Hosted by RRh-Art'

there's a person doing armored core lore videos that's also using the old raven's nest emblem as their profile picture, so i'm going to be switching around pfps for a bit to see what i can use. sorry if it gets annoying.........

i made this robot in a game when i was around 14..... back then i was into votoms and a kinda insensitively into real military hardware so you can really see that in the design this stuff is alright but you can maybe see through this that i'd like to develop a more personal design style soon

drawing of the 4 meter tall combat mecha "watchdog" bracing and firing her gun to the left and slightly to the bottom of the image
her current weapons are a composite 35mm autocannon plus 75mm snub mortar in her right hand and a 4-cell light missile pack on her left back. they're partially based on the real bush iii autocannon, 2b9 vasilek automatic mortar, and martlet multirole missile. a horizontal muzzle brake at the end of the autocannon splits the flash caused from firing into two sharp flashes on the left and right side of the muzzle and a bigger but softer fireball coming out the front of the muzzle. three shell cases are shown having been ejected out the front of the autocannon. the firing is causing the gun and its modest ammo drum on the gun's right side to shake
watchdog's bodytype is blocky and humanoid, but with digitigrade legs. most of her bodywork is featureless ceramic with the front the front of her torso looking like a huge, single piece of chiseled ceramic. her pelvis has 2 pairs of square headlights, her right thigh has a step bar for climbing on top of her her head, and her feet each have 2 sensor bars at the bottom. her feet are also each equipped with a rubber-padded toe and a powered skate for their heels. her head is a tank cupola with periscope vision slits. her joints and hands are each obscured by kevlar coverings. watchdog firing her autocannon is also causing her arms and a radio antennae on her right back to vibrate
watchdog was designed by me!!! hi

sketch lines done! ....well, almost. i feel like she still needs small adjustments everywhere and i'm not sure if the missile pack is detailed enough....... should i do a ammo box or an ammo drum for the autocannon? i remember i thought of it as a box when i was young, but a drum might look better

rough sketch of a small mecha about 4 meters tall.
she's currently crouching while aiming her gun. she's armed with a combo gun in her right hand consisting of an autocannon and a snub mortar attached to the top of it, as well as a 4-cell missile pod on her left back. her bodytype is blocky and humanoid, but with digitigrade legs
there's some details missing like the muzzle brake on the autocannon and the powered skate wheels at the back of the feet

something i learned from a friend recently is that if you absolutely want to prevent pencil smudges, you can try using tape to lift some of the lead off the paper before erasing of course, carefully selecting the type of tape to match the fragility of the paper you're using is really important.....
