We need a conversation on AI coding etiquette. First thing: should we treat agentic code differently than human code? I hear a lot of people saying: Your code is your code whether or not you use AI and you need to stand behind it. I don't fully agree. I want to know when code is human vs LLM.

I believe in the principle of crowd-sourced data, but the "US x Iran Permanent Peace Deal by June 15" market saps what little faith I had in Polymarket to deliver on that promise. This is corruption in plain sight.
We started the Diplomat Rust FFI project as a way to scale ICU4X (a Rust library) to many target languages. Since then, multiple other clients have discovered Diplomat, and through the magic of open source, we have new targets including Kotlin and Python. You should consider using Diplomat, too!
Finally wrote my blog post about Diplomat I should have written this ages ago, but better late than never manishearth.github.io/blog/2026/06...

I was about to write a post praising Deutchebahn for a pleasant journey from Amsterdam to Frankfurt... but the train terminated at Flughafen instead of Hauptbanhof, and now I'm on the platform with thousands of other frustrated passengers waiting for 30 minutes for the S-bahn that keeps not coming
I've taken 16 trains in 5 countries while traveling through Europe this month. My ranking: (1) NS InterCity (Netherlands). Lots of seats, quiet, clean, level boarding, punctual. (My anecdotal experience!) (2) SBB InterCity (Switzerland). Quiet, punctual, clean, more crowded but enough seats. 🧵
The German ICE trains are consistently late, standing room only (even in 1st class), expensive, and not really that fast. The RE trains seem to be more on time, less crowded, inexpensive, and not really that slow. Is the stress of ICE trains worth the few minutes it sometimes saves? 🚄
It's a regular occurrence for a car, taxi, or even another bus to be blocking a bus stop and obstructing the view. Is it the responsibility of the passenger to proactively monitor the traffic and flag down the bus 😳, or for the bus driver to honk and alert the passenger? 🪿 #transit
@bridainep.bsky.social Nice talk today at UTC! In one of your slides you talked a bit about Sean being pronounced as either Shane or Shaun depending on diacritics. I would be curious if you could elaborate on the etymology of these two names and how the vowel sound changed!
I guess I'll have to blog about this tomorrow, but "LOL, Trump TACO'ed out" is decidedly not the right reaction as compared to "that kind of brinkmanship is really fucking dangerous". Original post
PSA: Since the retirement of Kubernetes Ingress-Nginx [^1], I've been very happy using F5 NGINX Ingress Controller [^2]. I should have been using it all along. Yes, I was confused about the naming, too. #k8s #nginx [^1]: kubernetes.github.io/ingress-nginx/ [^2]: docs.nginx.com/nginx-ingres...
There need to be consequences for leaders who avoid solving the root causes of problems. A first step: institute a threshold for ATC staffing (if one exists, it clearly isn't enough), and when an airport falls below the threshold, don't clear flights to land until more controllers come on duty.
Spot on, Congressman. I’m a retired ATCS (Center), the last 15 years of my career I was a first line supervisor. ATC has been chronically understaffed, under equipped, and stretched too thin. The Agency puts professionals like the one at LGA in untenable situations and then blames them for errors.
A big accomplishment! As a champion, it is rewarding to move the needle on dates and times not only in JavaScript but across the industry, especially for non-Gregorian calendars. And as an implementer, ICU4X was born in part out of Temporal and now powers Chrome, Boa, and Kiesel. 🎉
ECMAScript EXTRA-SPECIAL excitement 😉 🚨🚨🚨 IT'S ABOUT TIME! 🚨🚨🚨 Congrats to @ptomato.name on advancing Temporal to Stage 4 at @tc39.es today 🎉 Temporal is the replacement for the JavaScript Date API 👍
Overheard people who make six figures complaining that BART, which needs the money, is raising their fares, from $4.88 to $5.15 on average. 🤨
I am absolutely a fan of upgraded train cars on regional trains, like the Keihan railway between Osaka and Kyoto. Every city should have these. 🚇
It was great to visit Tokyo for JSConf.jp and TC39 last week! Now I'm down in Kyoto being mesmerized by the fall colors. 🍁
Did I just see an ad with the Oakland Ballers on the World Series? @oaklandballers.bsky.social ⚾
$ rust -v Command rust not found 😔 $ rustc -v error: no input filename given error: aborting due to 1 previous error 😠 (finally worked with rustc --version)
Really exciting to see this finally coming together! It's been a long journey for myself and many others, and I'm very happy with where we've landed.
ECMAScript excitement 😉 @jason-williams.co.uk from TechAtBloomberg announces the release of Boa's Rust-based implementation of TC39 Stage 3 Temporal 🎉 Chrome estimates this will ship in Chromium 143 🎉🎉 Temporal is the shiny replacement for the broken JS Date API ✨
I've heard people describe the Oakland Ballers as a "low-level minor league team". Wrong: they are a team of high-caliber players disenfranchised from MLB, like their fans. Just look at Bufford, Almanza, Chewy, etc, all very talented, and manager Aaron Miles, a World Series alum. #LetsGoOakland ⚾
💚 💛 Ballers fam, @MayorBarbaraLee just announced that we're going to keep the party going! 🎉 See you there! 🍾
What does it say when Idaho Falls intentionally WALKS Christian Almanza, not once but TWICE in the same game for the Pioneer League championship? He's the silver slugger of Oakland, baby! #LetsGoOakland ⚾ @oaklandballers.bsky.social
It's the final game of the People's World Series! Come on Bay Area, let's turn up for another sell-out!
YUP, WE IN GAME FIVE BABY! Winner takes it ALL and we need THE TOWN to pull up deep and be that 10th man! Let’s pack the house and show ‘em how Oakland gets down. Grab them championship tix NOWWWW 🏆🔥 🎟 Grab your tickets now → tickets.oaklandballers.com
Great game! Nice work Gabe Tanner for staying focused and allowing only 2 runs on almost 100 pitches, and Cam Bufford for the textbook 3-run homer to finish off the 8th! Here's a clip of Sully's last pitch of the game! #LetsGoOakland 🟩🟨⚾
BALLERS FORCE GAME 5!!!

@transit.app Please add more features to customize your route. Example: to go from Oakland to Palo Alto, I want to build a custom itinerary that uses the N, T, 15, 30, 55, Waymo, Baywheels, or other connection to transfer between BART and Caltrain in downtown SF instead of transferring at Millbrae.
