Leaves more questions for the media blowing what is basically an employment issue out of all proportion. You have a President who lies every time he opens his mouth. Maybe focus on that…

Ben Damberg protest volunteer: “None of us want to be doing this — I don’t, but we simply cannot stand by as other Minnesotans are being hurt — we will march, we will protest, & we will do it all peacefully above all else”

Walz: "What's happening in MN defies belief. News reports simply don't do justice to the level of chaos & disruption & trauma the federal govt is raining down... This long ago stopped being a matter of immigration enforcement. Instead, it's a campaign of organized brutality against the people of MN"

Still in a state of shock trying to process the tragic loss of one of the most gifted men in the entertainment industry & his wife when the Embarrassment-in-Chief disgraces common human decency with this repulsive, deranged statement. #NoWords 🤮

On the sixth anniversary of the Fishmongers’ Hall terror attack, we remember Saskia Jones & Jack Merritt who tragically lost their lives. They will remain in our thoughts, as will our emergency services & the Londoners who bravely put themselves in danger that day to help others.

Minor quibble with the word "appeared" but this is otherwise an accurate description of a thing that happened yesterday. If one of your loved ones did this you would be having hard conversations about giving another family member power of attorney over their bank accounts.

Another good time to remind people that “tear gas” is a term of copaganda that police, the military, and its manufacturers use to obscure that it is a dangerous chemical weapon internationally banned for use even in warfare.

Feds use tear gas in Chicago

I know I’m naive but it is pretty wild that the president of the United States just publicly declares he and the military killed some guys on a boat, multiple times, and the entirety of Congress doesn’t immediately hit a giant red IMPEACH button

Conor Gearty was, without hesitation, the best academic writer I’ve read. He was also a thoroughly decent and kind human being who fearlessly used his position speak truth to power. Conor did law, politics and academia the right way and he will be sorely missed. Ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann.

Breaking News: The EPA moved to stop requiring polluters to report their emissions of greenhouse gases. The proposal would end a key tool the government uses to track carbon dioxide, methane and other gases that are driving climate change.

E.P.A. to Stop Collecting Emissions Data From Polluters

The data, from thousands of coal-burning power plants, oil refineries, steel mills and other industrial facilities, is the country’s most comprehensive way to track greenhouse gases.

One of the defining features of authoritarian society is the ruthless but selective use of the machinery of repression—and associated propaganda about criminality and “order”—to immunize predatory behavior of the powerful while crushing everyone else into profitable obedience.

And we are hearing the same nonsense about London and other UK cities being overrun by crime and bedlam too. Social media culture allows for moral panics on steroids.

The deployment of the national guard in Washington ignores the data. But Democrats must not ignore how people feel
