Yume Mita has more or less improved on itself with every episode. Really enjoying it now that it's found its dramatic footing and also holy shit Viola. The downside of that being that the first episodes were pretty much nothing tbh.

Today I made the ill-advised decision to search my books in a few author discords I lurk in and holy shit people are talking about my work this week. It’s legitimately hard to put into words how much that means.

AI in scientific publishing: Slower, worse, and more expensive

There’s a saying in the management world, popularized by NASA administrator Daniel Goldin in the 1990s, that the goal of technological improvements is to make products faster, better, and cheaper. Alt...

There’s a certain kind of person that wants to be your friend but only insofar as you overwhelmingly share their tastes, opinions, etc. This is pretty normal mean girl shit ofc. Being marginalized can intensify this dynamic in really unhealthy ways that make it get very infantilizing very quickly.

Having just devoured (heh) this book and its sequel, I just wanna toss out that full price is MORE than fair for the good times had. $2.09 is a ghat-dang steal.

Two years ago, @devi.bsky.social and I published The Hades Calculus. To mark its second anniversary, we're discounting the book by 70%--just $2.09! Enter the world of cannibalistic lesbians, giant mecha, Greek gods and the giant monsters that besiege them. No monstrosity or cruelty is too far to win

I believe that we should all have the right to change sex, freedom from discrimination for changing sex, and access to the means of changing sex socially, bodily, and legally, without being subject to pathologizing regulatory regimes enforcing patriarchal law and mandatory heterosexuality.

I really should have moved on when it became clear they were just an antifeminist, not a confused queer tumblr type; but it really is remarkable how much the “all biology agrees with me,” crowd is dying to prove they never went past high school biology.

Skeet’s first asking if hormones are immutable, followed by a random terf responding

“If you mean "hormone contents of an organism's bloodstream", no.

The genetic body plan encoded in a human's cells? Yes.”

Sex is both mutable and socially constructed. Trans people change sex. This change comes in a wide variety of forms, social, medical, legal, etc. Trans liberation hinges on the rights to enact and shape these changes, and protections against discrimination for doing so.

I must confess, even with the whole genocide investigation plot in the Exceeds manga, this first episode of Nanoha had a lot more cannibalism than I would anticipate for this franchise.
