CALLING LONDONERS 📣 My friend has spent FIVE YEARS developing her play—a queer horror story—and she's hardly sold any tickets. She's travelling down from Leeds and I'm devastated 🥺 The Haunting of Verity Evans, The Hope Theatre, 25th–26th August. I hope you'll join me! Please share if you can't!

Content note: Emotional child abuse wrt to that congresstwit and his daughter’s favourite stuffed toy, a blue bunny. My dad once ran after a bus to get my *second* favourite stuffed toy back. My mother darted off a train about to leave to get my stuffed horse back. I can’t even with this.

I wouldn’t buy an Olivia Rodrigo set purely out of spite — consumerism isn’t activism and it certainly isn’t when the company is Lego — but after a month of endless whining from twits that Lego is making Lego for giiiiirls instead of REAL Lego fans the tipping point is pretty close!

I strongly disagreed with Ann Widdecombe on Very Nearly Everything, and also I am, generally speaking, possessed of strong ethical objections to murder. I don’t feel I can wholeheartedly crab rave in these circumstances.

Household-wise, this year’s heatwave management has been better than last year’s, because (at last) all the upstairs blinds are fitted, and also they have been lined with reflective foil things for good measure. Knocked off a good five degrees, I think. Still too warm! But not AS BAD.

Back when all the EDS bullshit was kicking in with a vengeance and my sixth form (and brief foray into formal education) decided it would be much more convenient if I was mentally ill, not physically deteriorating, and forced me into therapy, the therapist tried to blame my mother for early weaning.

Yeah so basically where I’m at with this is, I don’t really have any reason *to* wean froggie and our current setup is pretty sustainable to me- I can skip feeds if we’ve got an evening event or whatever without an issue- so I’m probably gonna keep going as long as he wants to idk

Adventures In Babysitting’s use of The Crystals’ And Then He Kissed Me needledrop is both earlier and better than the Goodfellas one. And also amazing and perfect and possibly still the single most influential piece of media as far as my mental image of femininity goes.

There’s a large patch on my right leg that has been doing some increasingly loud but fortunately intermittent nerve pain thing and honestly I could do without it spending ten seconds five times a day screaming that it’s on fire. It is not on fire. I have checked. Repeatedly.

Re: that whole “disabled life is less dour tragedy fit to pluck abled heartstrings and more absurdist comedy with kafkaesque elements” theory of mine, I don’t usually lose my *entire* vocal range when I have throat sproings.

Had an extremely vicious mid-word throat sproing yesterday. I’m fine, I got everything put back where it’s supposed to be pretty quickly, but lord, the ache and being stuck croaking until it finishes healing, it’s so very tedious. Highly recommend producing collagen that functions properly instead.
