So, it is a month to NeuroFly 2026 and we still don’t know if our poster or talk abstracts have been accepted. The registration fee issue was solved by asking us to carry a credit card to the venue. It seems the spirit of Deutsche Bahn has infected the organising university.

I always wonder - when we get to post-scarcity and freedom from oppression, what form of cultural pursuit would you mostly do? Science? Literature? All? Different ones at different times? What?

This pretty perspex model of the double helix, from 1953, was just sold for $614,400. It was made at the Cavendish by Tony Broad, the ace technician who also ran the X-ray crystallography set-up. I think they cost around £50 each at the time (a lot, back then!). Watson’s copy is in the CSHL archive.
