Love your zine, @louisapreston.bsky.social !
A #sharpies26 highlight was Beth Driscoll’s keynote, choosing my reader avatar - and trying to visualise it very sketchily (eh-hem). Another delight was making my zine program which was handily supplied by SHARP, which I then hand bound into my little note-sketch book for the conference!

Mark Lester encouraging us to look in both directions from our normal period (past/future) for comparisons/inspiration is right on the money. This is what I love about book history and SHARP, you hear/read research on a completely different area/period, and it totally changes your work #SHARPIES26

I’m laughing listening to Priyasha Mukhopadhyay talk about her sources’ letters writing about how many letters and forms they have to write to get even small things done. I work in a library in a university. This is deeply relatable. #SHARPIES26
Join us at the #SHARPIES26 in half an hour for an interview with Adrian Johns and Priyasha Mukhopadhyay, chaired by Hwisang Cho, on Technologies of Reading!

Collected things in public narratives are either Troves (valuable, glistening wows) or Dusty, moldy, messy hoards (pejorative) Ruthie Block had interesting things to say about formulating “accumulations.” I think more consideration of framing & terminologies like this would be fruitful. #SHARPIES26
Came late to the current #SHARPIES26 session, but I'm so happy to see all the SHARP people, even on screens!!

What a great turn out and a great event (could only have been improved with an on screen appearance of the cat!)
Thanks to everyone who came out for this! I’ve already sent to @eve.gd , but here’s a behind the scenes look at my prep.
A nice thread between the two initial #SHARPIES26 talks thus far is the inability to save everything (noted by @eve.gd) and the gathering, scattering, and losses of Black books collected by Mayme Clayton (noted by Ruthie Block). Collecting, gathering, appraising are all complicated.
