One of my top students used the phrase "approaching significance" in her thesis. Criminy! I am a failure as a mentor! If she said, "sneaking up on significance with intent to bludgeon it" then we would be fine.

Today is the one-year anniversary of my cancer Dx 🍾. I'm still here and still dancing. Two more months of treatment remain. All signs are positive for a full cure. But yet: zero stars--do not recommend.

Realizing you are likely going to survive cancer, but everything is different now. So the next question is—so what are you going to be with rest of your life. There can only be one answer for me—I am going to be a menace. (in the best possible way).

Public debates on science are weird: Here are 100 years of consistent data on this point. It really is not at all controversial. Rebuttal: Nuh-uh. We have more money than you. And you are ugly, too. Rebuttal wins!

I usually don't like film versions of musicals. They lose energy and miss the point. But saw film version of Hadestown last night and it was very good. Hermes, Hades and Persephone were amazing. High recommend.
