YESYESYES this!!! I want to call attention particularly to the fact that tracing other things that aren't photos of yourself is also perfectly fine in many cases. Tons of cheap photosets you can buy, stock that allows open use, you can use 3D materials from CSP, etc!

It isn't a "crutch", it isn't cheating.

digital artists should make a habit of drawing on paper because having physical canvas restrictions is going to improve the way you think about the digital canvas too. 1.you can't ctrl-z on paper 2.no endless resolution, can't zoom in 800% 3.can't discard canvas with a click of a button
