Satyricon (1969) Fellini's adaptation of a fragment of a roman poem from the first century AD pretty much sets the bar in my mind for ancient epics.
If I wanted to add one thing, it's that community isn't only location or heritage. Community is an important factor in my work, specifically the queer community. I love to dialogue with and reflect it back on itself with my little love stories and jokes.
