Security Architect. I talk about Fabric, Network builds, network security, information security, New Zealand and a bit of gaming. #InfoSec #StarField #NZ #Networking #NetEng #Fabric #NetSec I follow often (As long as your profile has some content)!
OK this is kinda hilarious
Roost is a messaging app where messages aren’t instant; they travel between users at the speed of whichever bird they use to send it. Note sending is limited by the # of birds in your rookery…if they’re all out, you have to wait until one returns. [roostsocial.app]
Ugh, first sick day off outside of Covid in 8 years. Feel like rubbish, every muscle has zero energy, could barely get up and go to the loo, my stomachs doing backflips and I got a grand total of 2 hours sleep. Stargate in bed for me I think.
I've just been tasked with consolidating a network with 20 different distribution switches, 400 DHCP scopes, 800 vlans, and networks they *think* they use but can't really be sure. Oh and nobody has access to half the switches. RIP my sanity.
250k order of @ExtremeNetworks just dropped. CampusFabric install starts next week! HDR contrast being rubbish, sorry for the image!
Went and watched a game of bouncyball this afternoon with the local Palo Alto team. Was fun! The local sports team one by 50-sum points!
90's me is like "Holy f'n shit how the fark does anyone use that much bandwidth in a lifetime." 2026 me is all "Meh, that's a days usage on that port"
Like this dude I am happy I grabbed the upgrades to my dying hardware when I did. AI has been a fucking nightmare. It's made all sorts of computer parts expensive, stole people's art, is cooking the planet, and more. Butlerian Jihad, now. I am ready to be anti-AI's strongest soldier.

My weight changes over the past year. I was actually 105 when I started but I refused to put it in until I hit 99 where I plateaued for ages.
The Trump administration has taken steps to relax the restrictions done on poly-fluoridated gases that were implemented by Reagan to stop ozone deletion.
1 year ago today I was 109 kg. Today I am at 93.8 Pretty bloody happy with the results so far honestly.
I've started doing 60 kettlebell swings in the morning before work for the last couple of weeks. 20 double hands, 20 left and 20 right. Had a new 15kg bell arrive last week. My workday focus feels better which is pretty good. Still getting my nightly walks and workout done.

Gahh, this is one of those things I hate to be right about: www.digitaljournal.com/tech-science... I've often said a lot of data sovereignty demands are meaningless when the cloud provider is a US company because of the CLOUD act. So AWS region, or Azure region doesn't give you sovereignty.
Microsoft says U.S. law takes precedence over Canadian data sovereignty
Microsoft representative says US CLOUD Act comes before other country's sovereignty.

Anyone know good places for cocktails here in Wellington down Courtney place kind of area?
Ray Chung is a shitcunt not worthy of office. I don't care who the target is, what side of the aisle, this behaviour is unbecoming of those in power. www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/3607...
Ray Chung spread salacious sex claims about Mayor Tory Whanau that he heard from ‘neighbour’
The unsubstantiated gossip email said there was a “bout of tempestuous sex”, and afterwards the woman claimed to be the mayor.

In every failed audit, in every breach blamed on misconfiguration, I see the echo of their choice — Fortigate. Not because it was the best. But because it was easy. And ease is the drug of extinction.
Audit not only the logs of machines, but the silence of those who should speak. Threats hide in omissions, not alarms.
The network is a reflection of its makers. And in that reflection lie every vanity, every shortcut, every forgotten patch — all ripe for consequence.
Democracy is a fragile ecosystem. Poison it with enough lies, and only extremism will thrive.
Does anyone know if Kim Vinnell is still hosting the @reuters.com World News podcast? Haven't heard a good old kiwi accent on there in AGES.
Whoop! Finally broke the 99kg barrier! Down to 98.4 as of this morning. 4 months stuck at the same weight no matter what I did was getting a little disheartening. Increased my kettlebell intensity and replaced a meal with a smoothy which seem to have done it.
