i’m still slowly but surely making my way through mates so i haven’t read this yet but it’s one of my favorite things when a writer creates a whole universe like this that you get to stay in forever

a few days late, but! happy two years, foolish wand-waving 🎂✨

"Like," Louis continues, ignoring Liam as he reaches over Niall to grab a steaming bowl of mash, "why would you ever even want to juice a pumpkin?"

"Same reason you'd want to juice anything? It tastes good?" Harry takes a dainty sip of his pumpkin juice as if he's sampling some sort of posh wine. "And it's got like, lots of good vitamins and stuff."

Lous rolls his eyes. "Sounds fake but ok. Accio rolls!"

"Oh give it a rest Louis," Niall says through a mouth full of stew. "You only hate it because everyone else loves it."

"You mean I have taste?" Louis shoots back, dipping a roll in his helping of cheesy pasta and shoving it into his mouth. Niall raises a single, incredulous eyebrow.

"Don't you have some important business to attend to at the Hufflepuff table?"

"Fraid not." Niall hums happily, sopping up the last of his stew with a hunk of bread. "Ok, so." He looks across the table at Harry and Liam, chewing thoughtfully. "Back to the patronus problem."

Louis groans. "Do we have to call it a problem?"

"Sure, we can call it 'your furry little problem.'"

Posted this snippet on tumblr from the next thrill chp!

Harry pushes his wet boots off at the door and hears Louis’ shoes hit the floor a moment later. He doesn’t actually watch him step inside. Or rather, he can’t.
In the kitchen, Harry gets a can of cat food from the cupboard above the microwave. He goes about cracking it open, emptying it into Collette’s dish. And for a little while, he pets her as she eats while pretending he isn’t aware at all times of Louis’ breathing, his heart beating, his scent. He’s also aware of his own heart racing, his panic mounting.
When Louis steps into the kitchen after several minutes of silence, Harry forces himself to stand and takes a step in the opposite direction, shoving his hands into the pocket of his sweatshirt.
“Do you want a drink or something?” Harry asks, his voice a flurry, hardly intelligible.
“Harry,” Louis says.
Harry looks at him. He notes the diminishing distance between them. But he’s in the corner of the kitchen already. There’s nowhere left for him to retreat to.
“I’m not afraid of you,” Louis says. “Alright?”
Harry releases a heavy sigh and as he does so, his eyes slip closed. “I think you should be,” he says.

“Maybe you should try being a bit more menacing, then,” Louis suggests. “I think you’re the one who’s afraid.”
Harry scoffs, but he still can’t even meet Louis’ gaze. He looks down at his damp socks instead. A moment later, he sees Louis’ socked feet enter his field of vision, the toes slightly damp from rainwater soaking through his trainers.
He feels him closer than he’s been in days. And then he can’t help but look at him, at his mouth, at least. Close enough to kiss. “You’re right,” he says quietly. “I am.”
“This probably sounds like a joke,” Louis says, “but I’m not going to hurt you.”
Harry presses the heels of his palms into his eyelids until it hurts. He’s sick of crying. He doesn’t know what else to do but cry. He wants to rewind to two weeks ago when this all felt simpler. Still impossible, still doomed, but simpler. Back when he felt guaranteed to Louis’ touch for however long it lasted. That’s all he wants now.
Then, Louis touches Harry’s wrists. He closes his fingers loosely around them. He gently pulls Harry’s hands away from his face. A shiver runs through Harry’s body when Louis presses a kiss to one palm, then the other.
The only way this makes sense is if Harry is dreaming. He doesn’t have a ton of good dreams anymore. He should probably make the most of this one.

To celebrate. Here’s a snippet. Massive bonus points to anyone who knows where I got my inspiration from.

Determined to hang onto this feeling and convinced that the omega is the next mistake Harry's going to make, he checks the time to see if it's too late. It's 3 a.m., and he lets out a sigh, chances that he's still here are slim. He peels himself off the disgusting sofa and is about to leave the room when, like an angel answering his prayers, the omega walks in.
Against all better judgement, and because he's not thinking straight, when he sees the omega smoking, he points at it and blurts out, "That shit is gonna kill you."
The omega stops and turns to him, one arm crossed over his torso, the other holding the cigarette up. Harry can't take his eyes off him; he's sure he's probably scenting the air around them without knowing. The omega tilts his head and smiles saccharine sweet. "Aw," he says before taking a long drag from the cigarette, then blowing it in Harry's face. "Well, now you're gonna die too."
Harry coughs and swats the air at his face. "Do you always get away with things like this because you're pretty and smell nice?"
The omega rolls his eyes. "Oh, please. I know your dying wish is to be baptised in my slick."
"Maybe we could start with a name."
