Single Homeless Project

@shpcharity.bsky.social

London-wide charity working to prevent #homelessness and help Londoners to transform their lives.

With a splash of paint and a few volunteers, Liss helps turn our hostels into spaces that finally feel like home. 🏡 💬 "Seeing it all come together, with clients involved and staff so appreciative... that's what makes it all worthwhile." 💛

Last year, we helped 4,750 people stay in their own home, preventing homelessness before it happened. Because the best outcome isn't helping someone after they've lost their home. It's making sure they never lose it in the first place. ❤️

💬 "You have to do things yourself." Jurga lived by those words for years until she met Michelle. 💬 "When I realised this wasn't about Michelle doing everything for me, but helping me do it myself, everything changed." That understanding helped Jurga rebuild her confidence and reclaim her life ✨

Figures released last week show rough sleeping in London has fallen by 10% over the past year, including a 45% drop in young people sleeping rough. Encouraging progress, but there's still much more to do. No one should be sleeping rough in 2026. 🏠

As we face another heatwave, our Head of Rough Sleeping, Mel Malcolm, spoke to the Camden New Journal about why extreme heat is such a risk. 💬 "Climate change means that this is going to be happening more and more... We can mitigate as much as possible, but we need something more proactive."

We came together for another incredible evening of live music, celebrating the creativity and talent of our clients and staff. 🎶 From first-time performers to experienced musicians, every act was a reminder of what's possible when people are given the opportunity to grow and express themselves. 💪

The Marylebone Project's closure is devastating. Women's homelessness is hidden. Many avoid mixed services because it doesn't feel safe, instead spending nights walking, hiding or sleeping in plain sight. More women-only homelessness services, not fewer: www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5yr106z6k2o
