I honestly don't know. Writing has always been a hobby for me, and (forgive my arrogance) I surprised myself with a book I believe is worthy of publishing. I don't know how and how well I fit in the publishing eco-system, if at all. #CampRevPit #CRPfireflies

Happy last day of #CampRevPit! I've had a great time being your counselor! Thank you for replying to my (sometimes silly) prompts.❤️ Today's #CRPfireflies prompt: What's the plan for your project once it's finished (and/or edited)? Querying? Self-pub? Unsure? (For more fun, check out #ABCPit next!)

#ShoutOut to everyone who participated in #CampRevPit, and a warm thank you to my #CRPfireflies counselor @arumiwrites.bsky.social and the crew.

Good morning, Campers! 🏕️ #CampRevPit is coming to an end soon. We hope you had lots of fun, met new friends and put down some words! On the last day of camp, #ShoutOut a writer friend who's inspired you, helped you along your journey, or just been a great Camp buddy. 👏

On a grassy green hill beneath a starry night sky, the caterpillar nibbles on a tree while the mantis and the firefly work on their stories. The mantis lays in the grass writing in her journal with a fountain pen and her very tall stack of papers beside her. The firefly sits in the branches of the tree with a laptop. The firefly’s butt is glowing brightly so the mantis can see to write.

1. Like my previous speculative books, the technology was published in a scientific journal while I was still revising. 2. The sexy self centered yoga instructor character is based on a real person, whom I no longer speak with. 3. I Fully understand the science in the story. #CampRevPit

Good morning, #CampRevPit! 🏕️ Tuesday is #CampTrivia time! Post 3 weird facts about your WIP: 2 truths, 1 lie. Let us guess the fake.

A well-fed green caterpillar sits on a little hill to the right of the screen, eating a pile of pages labeled with the words “story notes.” On the left, a Camp RevPit flag waves at the end of a flagpole. There is a blue sky with fluffy white clouds in the background. The following text is on the picture: Day 9 CampTrivia

Happy Monday, #CRPfireflies! Imagine that an agent sees your quote-tweet of this post, and you have one tweet to pitch your book to them. What do you share? This can be a pitch, an agent guide, a playlist, a banger line, or a combination. Don't forget to use our cabin hashtag! ✨ #CampRevPit

Hello #CampRevPit #CRPSparkleSkunks! We've made it to the weekend! I hope you all still have a nice reserve of snacks, flashlight batteries, and your favorite writing drink! Today's prompt is about tropes! Also, check out @reviseresub.bsky.social 's post about #CRPCabinRaids! Have fun!

4/25 Day 6

List 2 -3 tropes found in your project and... reverse them! Or twist them into a new fun or silly way!

For example:

Do you have a one bed trope? Now it's too many beds!
Fated Mates? Fated Friendzone!

Adrian is alarmed when Tessa doesn't remember her wife Dawn. He's horrified that she doesn't care Dawn killed herself, and is more horrified still when Tessa dives straight back into their research with the ambulance still parked in their back yard.

Happy Time Zone #CRPfireflies! To follow up on today's earlier #CampRevPit prompt, share a bit about your antagonist or the main antagonistic forces in your story. Is there a moment when the antagonist (or antagonistic forces) seem to succeed? What happens to your MC?

"Are your childhood memories so important? Who cares about your honeymoon, the birth of your child, or their graduation ceremony? You live now. Strive for perfection now. And if someone cares for you, and they matter, they matter now. They have to." #VillainVoices #CampRevPit #CRPfireflies

Good morning, #CampRevPit! 🏕️ Today, we give your villains a moment in the spotlight. What would they say your story is about? Pitch it from your villain's perspective. #VillainVoices

Congratulations on making it to Day 3 of #CampRevPit, #CRPfireflies! For a fun prompt today: describe your story with emojis! (Bonus: Also do this for your main character's arc) Here's mine: Story: 😱🎱🌲🐔😡🥺🔥☺️ MC: 🫥🤔😡😳🤔😔😌🥰

“The virus is working! It’s saving her! That’s why her fever was up!” Adrian growled at her as he persisted in his efforts. “Help me. You’re her doctor for crying out loud! You swore a fucking oath!” #OneLineMC

Revise & Resub@reviseresub.bsky.social · 4mo ago

Good morning, #CampRevPit! 🏕️Let's start the day with your main character! Use #OneLineMC and share a line from your manuscript that tells us all we need to know about your MC’s personality.

On a grassy green hill, a bright green praying mantis, a black and orange firefly, and a small green caterpillar examine the mantis’s very tall pile of story notes. The firefly is measuring the stack of paper with a tape measure while the caterpillar looks concerned. The stack of pages is waist-high to the mantis. A Campy RevPit flag flies from the top of a nearby flagpole. There is a bright blue sky with fluffy white clouds in the background. The text above them reads, #OneLineMC

Adrian's greatest strength is his heart. He fosters hope when all seems lost. He believes in the people surrounding him and their good intentions. He genuinely wants to help, and it shows. Adrian's greatest weakness is, well, his heart. He's easily manipulated and lets others get to him.

Happy Day 2 of #CampRevPit, #CRPfireflies! For today's cabin prompt, tell us a bit about your MC - what's their greatest strength? What's their greatest weakness? (Bonus question: How do these strengths/weaknesses affect their journey throughout your book?)

I didn't choose my genre. My genre chose me. I wanted to write science fiction and fantasy. That was what I read since I was a kid, climbing on the shelves of my father's library, picking Asimov from all the way up. But when I started writing, it was just today with a twist. What if... #CRPfireflies

Happy Time Zone #CRPfireflies, and welcome to another year of #CampRevPit! I can't wait to get started! Our first icebreaker: quote this post with what you love most about your genre, and what you'll be working on during camp. Don't forget to use our hashtag! ( #CRPfireflies )

As a data guy, I know the inherent issues of working with partial data. There are inherent biases, flawed relations and false assumptions. Still, this is the best I've got (I'd love more data). Here is my #RevPit winners analysis:

A weird thank you. I started writing a few years ago and the most supportive community I've found was on Twitter. We had writing rooms. We did sprints. We read each other's premature stuff. About three years ago, they all scattered to the wind. Gone in a single day. Thanks guys, wherever you are.

Writing well never came easy to me (arguably it still doesn't). Out of the books on writing I've read (quite a few, most fairly good) this one stands out. Clear, concise, and down to earth, a perfect mix of theory and practice. I couldn't recommend it enough. www.ursulakleguin.com/steering-the...
