"Another stunning piece of art - For me the first bite of a fresh grown tomato is when summer really starts. These lovelies looked like jewels in the sun when I spotted them at the farmer's market." Used to go a farmers market when I lived in Los Angeles - a fun place to shop.

Watercolor painting of a pile of tomatoes in a farmer's market stand

I love tomatoes. When I was a toddler, my mom had to beg my Greek grandparents to stop giving them to me because I ate so many I had a rash around my mouth. This little study both reminds me of that but also it's a proud gardener moment. Watercolor on paper 9 x 6.75 in Available #watercolor

Small watercolor of a red onion, three cherry tomatoes, an Anaheim pepper, a zucchini, and a few cowpeas in their hulls. On a white plate with strong light and cast shadows
