For summer taking a bit of a break, but still checking this weekly is the plan

In terms of Election news the county next door, Skagit WA, did not approve raising a levy by approx $17 a month on 500k houses to fund their Public Hospital District. this kind of sucks as news, because we want more hospital district in our county and this gives ammo to people saying it wont happen

Im trying to re-market myself as a Web Standards focused developer and being a trustworthy human worth entrusting with stuff. Its not as easy to be anti-AI all the time and sell yourself, but I implicitly emphasize how I dont use AI (but can entertain what it is and isn't) sort of thing.

@splendorr.bsky.social I bought the Crankboy GB Emulator for Playdate and had to share some joy with someone. For me this allowed me to download a ROM from any old place of Gameboy Tennis circa 1989 and play it immediately, such fun. Even felt inspired to donate a few dollars to their dev team

Just been off playing Skyrim and still found moments for awe. This is honestly still pretty amazing for me at times, yeah on Switch and the game itself has aged some, but I am still finding the joy.

Possibly to me the weirdest thing about the nintendo switch was always the web server interface the switch sets up to share screenshots to a mobile device. Just kinda clunky, but safer and reliable to a degree. Would have been cool to have authored that index.html file for sure for that purpose

Its an incredible sign of joy for me that not only am able to play Skyrim again and really enjoy immerse, I actually even have the interest enough in the lore of the world in game to read some of the booklets and visual materials presented in game. I still fast travel sometimes but not all the time

Just to try and describe Sam Neills early film role in the movie Sleeping Dogs (1977) he escapes to a part of the country called the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand, which is basically for a New Zealander like going to Alaska or the far Northwest of the lower 48 states to escape one's problems

Sam Neill was a New Zealander who cared about things despite some relative wealth and we were all better for him. I recommend his classic films, such as Sleeping Dogs
