everyone wants to believe the moment they join is 1916. I'm here to say that it's not, it's like 1870-1880, nihilist violence is the main expression of revolutionary anger. It's time to build organization, to knock people out of their work-life-sleep and rejoin politics as mass action.

Screaming "wtf" and waiting for a spontaneous uprising is going to discourage you. There won't be a spontaneous uprising. That's just not where the people are at. Organize for the long term. Build community. Build resilience. Have a strategy for whatever corner of this thing you're working on.

Union guys are mostly like this, despite what red flag waving larpers who wish it was 1898 would love to believe. Union members are like 5% of the workforce in America, they make like double the amount of other people without degrees and the jobs are extremely male-dominated. There’s a macho culture

lmfao a VP of the NYC *transportation workers union* is telling people to vote against Zohran because he’s too tough on car owners

Tramell Thompson β€’ @progress... 23h β€’ Mamdani wants to make you pay MORE to own your car.
Not because you did anything wrong β€” just because your car exists.
He's not taxing billionaires.
He's taxing the people who drive their kids to school.
Remember this at the polls today until the ballots are counted!
If you Show more
NYCar Owners Must Watch!

Btw this β€œdon’t take the bait” bullshit is the local officials pre-emptively disavowing any victims of fed brutality as having provoked it and the cause of their own suffering. If they got attacked by Trump’s feds then by definition they took the bait and are thus at fault.
