Finally got my car from the shop after around 2 and some weeks in the shop. Repairs look good. Glad to finally have it back in good shape. That means I get to show up at the office today! Oh joy 🙄 Lol

Musician, writer, producer, gamer (ttrpgs & video games), Juris Doctor, all around smartass. He/him. ADHD and coffee. AI free. Fuck off with your AI generated bullshit. 🇵🇷 Boricua 🇵🇷 English/Spanish Drummer for Cojoba & Tavú. All instruments in Sielvartas.
My gaming group bonded a ton over Runequest 3e back in the day. That grew into BRP love & trying out all other Runequest editions over the years. So, one of the dudes brought his excitement over Broken Empires to the table yesterday. Been reading up on it & am enjoying it lots.
My mother is a very intelligent woman. She has a post doctorate in bioethics, doctorate in public health, has edited & published articles & books... yet I find it difficult for her to understand how AI companies lie to everyone daily & how toxic & dangerous they are. I sure am trying though.
After a week off, we go back to our Shadowrun 4e game for TTRPG night. Doing a night raid on a warehouse where the artifact we're after might be & apparently the gangers in there are bankrolled by Aztlan & it brings blood magic & a blood spirit into the fray. Not good! But we're going in!
Two mixdowns later & the new song I wrote & tracked with one of my oldest friends last weekend is sounding amazing. The song is titled "Compos Mentis", latin for "Of Sound Mind". We've been making music together for years but only get together once a year, so no band name yet. Maybe soon.
Studios & companies controlled by suits with zero inspiration or artistic leaning. The premise?? You have Muppets, you let them do Muppet things. What the fuck do you mean you can't agree on the "premise" of the Muppets? Add to the list of tax write-off idiocy like WB did with Coyote vs Acme.
There are currently no active conversations for a full ‘MUPPET SHOW’ series revival. Disney, The Muppets Studio and Point Grey Pictures have had difficulties with deciding on a premise for the series that they can all agree on. (Source: Deadline)
Just got the first rough cut of the song me and my friend wrote and tracked over the long weekend, but with bass and guitar solos added. And I've had it on repeat for the last hour. Coming out amazing, can't wait to hear it mixed.
The snare drum we used for tracking this weekend was a Tama Terminator 50th Anniversary Mastercrafted Bell Brass Snare. It's been days since I got back home and I'm still in awe. Wish I had one. It costs an arm and a leg, so I guess I'll hold off lol
Drums are done! Guitar tracking underway. The song is coming out really cool. I'm excited.
Getting ready for drum tracking. With a Tama Terminator 50th Anniversary Mastercrafted Bell Brass Snare. Dear gods above and below, that snare sounds massive. Bucketlist snare drum.
Feels good to be back in this studio after a 3 year absence. Tracking a song that goes from 9/8 to 7/8 and back, and sneaking a 4/4 backbeat into some of those. Fun stuff.
Layover in Ft. Lauderdale reminds me why I'm not fond of this airport. "Not fond" would be putting it lightly, but at least it will only be for a few hours.
Happy Punk Rock Tuesday everyone!

Dolly Parton, Tim Curry, Peter Cullins. A generation of greats left us. It is our job to honor them by aspiring to emulate what made them great.
Today is a Rezn kind of morning. Their new album, "Cycles in the Infinite Dream", is massive, beautiful, and dynamic. Their sound evolved tons and I'm all for it. rezzzn.bandcamp.com/album/cycles...

The little book that could is on sale! Got an email from Mulholland. They’re making Zero Saints $1.99 for a limited time to boost it. The book that started a genre and launched my career in France. My first movie option, too! Super cheap. Super dark. Get some! www.amazon.com/dp/0316584738
Tim Curry passed away. I still remember watching Legend for the first time as a kid & being enthralled by his performance as Darkness. From Rocky Horror, to Clue, to the Muppets, to Command & Conquer, he always gave it his all. From humor to seriousness, he was brilliant. He will be greatly missed.
Dolly Parton passed today. She truly was one of the good ones. Rest in Power, Queen.
Random note: I have the Golgo 13 theme song from the NES videogame constantly in my head. I haven't played it in decades, but the song remains. So, I used it in our Roll20 table for our FIST campaign as the starting song. Found an orchestral version online & boy does it kick off FIST with a bang.
I also have a Coriolis: The Great Dark campaign I wanna run, as well as a ton of other games. But the group wants Dragonbane first, so I guess I need to get my ass in gear and prep! Lol If not, another short FIST mission in between would be awesome.
Our Shadowrun 4e campaign is nearing an endpoint. We will continue it, but in between, it's my turn to GM. I've been prepping a long Dragonbane campaign but have not dedicated much time to it lately. Might run something shorter instead then. FIST, Delta Green, Blackpowder & Brimstone, Frontier Scum.
I take it back, our runners headed to Los Angeles, which is nowadays is part of the Pueblo Corporate Council, not the California Free State. Headed to a really grimy safehouse, and while we were settling down to get our bearings, the windows blow in... and that's where we leave it for tonight.
Tonight for TTRPG night, after our runners survived a 5 way shootout at a Denver park, they were able to extract via Tbird & after 2 days without sleep, they finally pass out during the trip to the California Free State, following our quarry. We're ground down, wounded, but slightly rested at least.
Lots of simultaneous stuff on the brain. Have some free time. Want to continue tracking a new song. Had to change the BPM, felt slow, so retracking guitars. But also want to play Stalker 2. Likewise, I also want to work on a TTRPG campaign I've been setting up. I'll probably do all three things lol
Now I have more shelf space for my ttrpgs & my novels. I had too many books stored at my mom's in my old room, but she decided she wanted to use the room for other things, so... tons of books incoming. For novels I mostly do ebooks nowadays, due to lack of space. TTRPGs I still get many physical.
Whenever I put together furniture from Ikea & parts don't fit together, I imagine myself on my knees screaming "IKEAAAAAAAAA" in slow motion towards the sky in anger. I almost had one of those moments today, but pieces decided to fit before I cursed their lineage to the firmament.
Had time set aside to delve into Stalker 2 today. Instead of starting the expansion, I explored a ton, found good gear, discovered some blueprints & enjoyed the hell out of the engine upgrade. Stalker 2 looked good, but the new lighting & graphic overhaul looks beyond amazing on my pc. Screenshots!
