I'm looking for work! I love technical challenges and got a deep artistic sense. I enjoy stunning folks with visuals AND coding efficiently. I worked on games, XR and immersive art, but especially interested in museum displays, music videos, science education. DM me! Would love to chat.

games are made by people with complex feelings and dumb thoughts and complicated relationships in different political climates with the urge to create and the need to play and we should want to see all of that in videogames

Anyway I found this quote pretty interesting because we used to talk about procedural generation as the solution for this - but studios found it cheaper and easier to just hire more people and crunch for longer. PCG had a setup cost, whereas generative AI has a cost in quality at the other end.

I've written a book! Next Level: Making Games That Make Themselves is the story of procedural generation - the tech behind games like Minecraft and Dwarf Fortress. It's about how it works, the games that use it, and the art and magic behind it. Out May 7th, in bookshops: linktr.ee/next_level 🎲🔮
