I stumbled across an interesting conspiracy theory: Jewish Zionism as the result of Christian Zionism. (Herzl was willing to ponder a Jewish state in Argentina or Uganda.) And that would place (Christian) Zionism at least at the middle of the 17th century.

It was in Greil Marcus' "Invisible Republic: Bob Dylan and the Basement Tapes" (1997) that I first read of "the old weird America", this feverish realm of Christianist violence, its ghosts wandering the epochs, only at times returning to the human world, via folk songs and Appalachian despair. 1-13

I no longer believe that Trump's U.S. is a proto-fascist state, or a mafia state, or a kleptocracy, or a tech barons' playground. Trump is not even particularly evil, cruel, or vengeful. He is a just a male Laura Loomer—incapable to grasp when he's wrong, and when he is it's other people's fault.

I really need to pay more attention to the scary fact (because I tend to forget) how truly wacko US-ians can be. How can people like Laura Loomer (or Tucker Carlson for that matter) even walk around blathering like they do instead of being confined indefinitely to a psychiatric ward? It baffles me.

Israel faces the libel of "genocide" since its founding in 1948. It has been accused more frequently of genocide than any other country on earth. Honestly, whoever still bawls "genocide" is either nuts or an anti-Semitic activist.

People should keep in mind that since the early 1950s Israel is regularly accused of "genocide". Israel gets that label (and libel) no matter what. Which means that no one should take it seriously or literally anymore. It's just another way to make anti-Semitism look respectable.

This night I intensely dreamed of art. I was visiting a collaborative art studio in some eastern- or south-eastern European city where I was for a job interview. The light was bright, the art impression, esp. some smaller paintings & mosaics, direct. My former girlfriend was there too. Very moving.
