The Colossal Cave Booty Chest. A little too much rust going to redo it. I kind of like it without the rust to be honest. I think the rust pattern on the left lid to be the best. But over all the chest came out nice. Now I have to make more so we can get these shipped out.

Chest with RustChest without rust.

Ken and Roberta Williams just finished signing the collector cards and wooden plaques for the Collector's Chests! It still doesn't feel real that they're signing something I created. What an incredible honor. This project has been an absolute dream come true!

I like owning my games, I like to collect rate games, But mostly to own them. In my situation when making my own Physical Editions its fun to design them and make them real. In my case I own some of the most rare editions out there.

Question for all my fellow video game collectors out there: Why do YOU collect physical games? - To physically own your media - You like collecting rare games - Nostalgia - Investing in games to sell - Something else*

Last year I reached out to them and tried to get a job but never heard back. I'm now doing Physical Editions on my own. Competition is always good and we do physical editions a little different. I love their products and philosophy on physical editions. The more making physical editions the better.

Just what *are* EDITIONS? Let us explain... 🎆 We're looking back on our first set of shipped (or soon to ship!) games with huge hearts, but we're not finished yet! 🏃💨 TODAY. 6PM BST. SEE YOU SOON. 🕰️ youtu.be/eZyBGgmMNi0

As we are shipping out the collectors editions. We are sending them as fast as we can. Someone sent me this as I don't have Facebook. But seeing this about the physical editions I made makes me happy and why I love doing this. I don't like to dox people even if it's nothing but positive.

Colossal Cave Collectors Edition in the UK
So if the words 'plugh' or 'xyzzy' (I think I spelt that right :-) mean anything to you then you must have played the computer game Colossal Cave. Its got a massive history both with me and universally so I was really pleased when it was remade a while ago (here: www.colossalcave3d.com).
Well now l've even more pleased that you can get a collectors edition, in all sort of variations, and 1 am really proud that I'm the first in the UK to get one !!!
I can't tell you how pleased I am with it - and no I'm not associated with the company and no I'm getting absolutely no recompense for this post - I'm just absolutely thrilled with the item, want it to do well and want to let people know you can get one too.
l've attached lots of pics of the contents so you can see for yourself. If Colossal Cave means anything to you then you have to have one of these :-)
You can explore the variations and order here: https:// www.guillotine.tv/ccc
Mine arrived in 2 days - from America !!! - how is that for service:-)
Anyhow I'll write some other stuff about it soon but really wanted to just share it. Thanks Marcus Mera for a fantastic service and and the great deal of pleasure you have given me !
Don't think - just get one ;-)

My apologies for the last post. That article was from 2021. There will be a new article and it's not out yet. I pulled the tigger a little too early. But I'll be making physical Editions for Ken Willams and Guillotine Games. I'm working on the Physical Edition for Master House 3D now.

It's official I'm making Physical Editions for Indie games. I can only take a few projects at a time. Right now I'm finishing up Colossal Cave and starting on Mystery House I'll still make personal physical editions for myself and post images of them. Making physical editions is what I like to do

My first joint press release with @drguillotine.bsky.social. As you guys know I am a huge fan of physical media. Regular physical editions to game should never be limited. Physical Games are important to the fans and for preservation.

At Guillotine Games and Ye Old Press, we remain firmly committed to physical media.
As we prepare to release our Colossal Cave Collector's Edition, we're disappointed by reports that Sony may move away from physical discs with future PlayStation hardware.
We believe physical editions matter to collectors, preservationists, and players who want to truly own the games they purchase.
We believe that physical availability should never be dictated by arbitrary deadlines. While our Collector's Editions are intentionally limited in number, our standard physical editions will never be restricted in this way. We recognize that players discover and fall in love with games long after their initial launch, and we want to ensure that those players always have the opportunity to own a physical copy whenever they choose.
We'll continue to do everything in our power to release our games in physical form whenever possible. Physical media isn't just a product; it is part of preserving gaming history, and that's a commitment we intend to keep.

So excited today is a big day. The official Colossal Cave Collectors Edition is now up for pre-order. www.guillotine.tv/ccc This is the first Collectors Edition that is made by me. I am so excited.

I just spent $5,000 on getting things ready so I can mass produce some things. I am getting ready for pre orders of the physical Editions I made. Can't want to finally have an official version of a physical game you guys can buy.
