In Super Mario Maker 2, failing the matching game in the World Maker will cause Mario's mismatched creation to emerge from the door, making him slowly back away in fear or disgust. Below are all the possible abominations Mario can create.

In the World Maker mode of Super Mario Maker 2, the Match & Win! minigame is directly based on the Spade Panel game from Super Mario Bros. 3. If Mario fails to match all three reels to create a picture of a single power-up, he will wait in front of the house... ...whereupon the mismatched object he created will emerge from the door. Mario will back off, seemingly in fear or disgust. One down Elite Four were a challenge and I think I was a little under-leveled. My final team was Venusaur, Pidgeot, Golem, Alakazam, Lapras and Rapidash. Lapras did a lot of the work but Venusaur fittingly got the final blow against Gary's last Pokemon Fun to revisit in a form I hadn't played

I thought I was still missing Becky Chambers' Wayfarers book 4, but I found out I do have it while putting book 3 away, oops. Pleasant surprise but I'm usually better at remembering what I have than that. Glad to know it's there when I'll want it anyway
