The unexamined life is unlivable for a human being. Philosophy prof. La Salle University (Philly USA). ΑΦΔ. La Salle AAUP. ENTJ. Always tired.

Just purchased a ticket to go see this. During checkout, I got to the page with the "I am not a robot" checkbox and absolutely had to hesitate a few moments before proceeding...

It's always a bit unnerving when the pharmacy switches the manufacturer for your generic prescription, and you open the new bottle, and the pills are a different size with a different code imprinted on them. But they check out as the same drug and dose. My pharmacist isn't trying to kill me.

After watching World Cup matches or attending events (e.g., free concerts at the Philly FIFA Fan Fest) almost daily for 39 days - as well as seeing all kinds of wonderful content from our international visitors - it's a bit of a let down having life return to normal.

I'm getting the sense that some non-trivial percentage of recent ICE hires have been people who otherwise can't hold a job because they're unstable and emotionally disregulated.

We're at the point in the World Cup where none of the teams I was rooting for are still in the game, so I find myself in the position that, while I don't exactly want England to win, I definitely want Argentina to lose.

Seriously, fuck ICE. There will need to be a reckoning when this whole sad, enraging chapter is done. People will need to be held accountable, from the highest offices down to the most menial mercenary.

One perk of visiting the FIFA Fan Fest was getting 2 free tix to go see a Philly Union soccer game - a $120 value. Ending up choosing a date in October, when there is less chance of brutual heat.

Regarding Trump, FIFA, and Balogun: I have never encountered a person so incapable of "avoiding the appearance of impropriety" - or even understanding the concept - than the current POTUS.
