i think more people should know that you can set up any site you want as a search engine and skip google entirely. if you need to look up articles and stuff, your library might have online resources for that!
👁️@abyssalaquarist.bsky.social · 5mo agoi found out that it was really easy to set up your own search engines on firefox. i did this to avoid google's ai results. all you need is to add "%s" to the URL somewhere and it gets replaced with your query. then, you can use your keyword in the URL bar and search ie "@/wiki sharks" and avoid slop
haven't formally announced it yet cause i wanna get further along, but i'm working on a deduction game where you play a faceblind sniper, cross referencing information between the internet and your scope view to deduce who your target is
