I don't have any attachment to the franchise, but I am looking at the trend as a whole - and within it, what saddens me is the "standardization" of the AD for the remakes MGS Delta, Oblivion remake, now OoT - all have slightly different flavors, but a common palette of artistic devices and assets

writing that drives me nuts: when media consistently reneges on killing off characters, either setting it up and not following through or just reviving them through author fiat and undermining the impact of the initial 'death' scene not naming names for spoilers but Augh. it just kills the stakes

you really have to hand it to modders. the mod/hacking community is just wild these days. source recompiling, porting, HD conversions, ad nauseam in this case: MODDING COOP into silent hill 1 via LAN! it also underscores that people just want to hang out in SH1, its cozy via reddit r/silenthill
