Finally made it to Bullhouse East. Having my old favourite, Rolling Papers 🍻

Saw Holy Holy at The Limelight in Belfast yesterday evening. It was the last date of possibly their final tour and they didn't hold back. Woody Woodmansey, Tony Visconti, Glen Gregory, James Stevenson and the band won over the audience's hearts with a banging show of early 70s Bowie numbers.

This week's Fall tape is Speed Trials. A Homestead Records compilation culled from live recordings at the Speed Trials festival, White Columns Gallery, NYC, 4-8 May 1983. Features The Fall's Tempo House & Smile. The grainy B&W VCR footage on YouTube is brilliant! #FallFriday youtu.be/IGMSJFnEuB8

This week's Fall tape is Sgt. Pepper Knew My Father. A 1988 charity compilation from the NME featuring The Fall's cover of A Day In The Life. This album was my teenage entry point to the music of The Beatles, never having paid them much attention up to that time. #FallFriday youtu.be/SaC9htnMBGE
I've only just discovered that there's a 1987 Madonna B-side titled "Jimmy Jimmy". Did nobody at Sire Records advise Madge that there was already a perfect pop song with this title on the label's catalogue? No, that would be Causing A Commotion! @mickeyundertone.bsky.social
This week's Fall tape is Ruby Trax, The NME's Roaring Forty. A 1992 compilation which celebrated the NME's 40th anniversary with 40 number 1s covered by contemporary artists. The Fall contributed their cover of Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich's Legend of Xanadu. #FallFriday youtu.be/gnQiv2R8wUA

#NowPlaying Grauzone - S/T (1981) Bought this on my last morning in Berlin on a flying visit to Dussmann das KulturKaufhaus. Looked like an amazing store for books, film and music. Pity I hadn't time for a leisurely browse.
