Kids need/deserve traumatic films. Films that show death or lasting consequences that aren't resolved almost instantly. Fear, anger, grief and frustration should be part of kids movies. Kids arent stupid, they feel big emotions just like adults, they deserve to see those experiences reflected back.

I loved Sam Neill first in Jurassic Park, he really captured the wonder of a scientist discovering something unimaginable. But I also adored him in Event Horizon, one of my favourite movies, I didn't know he could play duplicitous evil so well. May he rest in peace 🙏
