If you want to make an animation or comic, it doesn't need to look like a mega polished professional production. Some of the best shit is sketchy, weird, and messy as hell- early internet toons kinda looked like shit (GOOD!) and we loved that stuff. What matters is if it's evocative or not I think
the main issue with editing Calvin & Hobbes comic strips as a meme template is that you are probably not as funny as Bill Watterson
