The show is open here in Barrow & we're honoured to be joined by Richard Awdry, who has brought his Grandfather's OO9 layout depicting the Mid Sodor Railway - Ulfstead Road. This is the first time both of Rev Awdry's model railways have been exhibited together outside of Tywyn!

Proper pre-grouping suburban stock, fit for a proper suburban tank engine. We’re closing the order books on the LB&SCR Liveried Evolution coaches in Batch 3 tomorrow, and with yesterday's announcement of the LB&SCR D1, we thought you would appreciate a heads-up. That way you don’t miss out!

And, to sign off the year, a couple of mischievous twins. The Rapido yellow Alfreds have become Bill and Ben! Hand-painted and weathered, they'll certainly prove trouble until I finish a Boco and Edward to rein them in...

Less on Bodmin than hoped for but not being well versed on the B&WR still a useful title. There's a rear shot I've not seen prior & the well known photo is it still ex-works as the buffers are not yet lowered. This makes the lining interesting and also states the paint is black rather than blue.

Anyone own The Bodmin & Wadebridge Railway 1834 - 1983 book by chance? On the pricey side and wishing to know if it has anything worth while on Bodmin built by Fletcher & Jennings.

Bit ruff but updated my old Sodor & Mainland Railway map edit so the Norramby branch is omitted. Even with this correction the network is still quite long for the little Gabs so thought I'd overrule Awdry's lore of three box tanks by making the third Neilson a design able to run trains end-to-end.

A sucker for Neilson singles so picked up 5 old prints at the Llanfair & Welshpool Railway show. Unfortunately 2 big 4 my scanner so had to piece 2 halves together but thought some might like to see. G&SWR No.159. No.1316 built in 1867. ? No.1458 built in 1869. Ireland? No.1783 built in 1873. (1/2)

Not been to a re-release before so hard to gauge normal attendance but couldn't watch this with my sis in Cwmbran as when tried booking the Thurs & Sat shows about 5 days in advance there were only 3 or so spread out seats! Instead went to Merthyr & even there it was fairly full. Definitely surreal.

"I don't think the evocative idea of train travel will die any time soon. I'm quite often on trains in the UK and there's a great relief in not being on the clogged roads and a certain beauty to the scenery through the window." - singer & songwriter Graham Parker 📷 Clive Smith

Our final Photo CharTR of the year is well underway, featuring a rather dirty and worn 'Dolgoch'. A team of volunteers have carefully weathered No.2 to resemble how she was in the late 1940s, including some temporary sign writing!
