I just played through the Belmont's Curse demo and I'm impressed enough to pre-order it. The first boss took a few tries and it felt almost like a Blasphemous boss fight. The controls are solid, and I like the art style. Castlevania is back!

I treated myself to a Superstation One, and overall I like it, but it was nowhere near the level of "plug and play" it was pitched as. There are a lot of steps to getting up and running and none of them are difficult, but if you're considering getting one, just know that it's a bit tedious to setup.

This is such a golden age of survival/psychological horror for both Resident Evil and Silent Hill. The new RE movie and SH Townfall dropping around the same time is awesome on its own, not to mention RE9 and Silent Hill f which were both great too.

I love Legacy of the Wizard on NES, and it was my first Metroidvania. As a kid I didn't like how long the passwords were, but now I can screenshot them, take a photo, or sometimes save a state from the password screen.

Legacy of the Wizard password that continues from just after getting the first crown and a few relics.

Me, holding a spiral bound notebook that reads “how to KAPOW the system”Two pages of the book, one is an FAQ asking why campaigns haven’t been doing this the whole time. The other is a black intro page for PART 1: INFRASTRUCTURE that reads “Cynicism is for losers. We can build the world we want to see.”Two pages on how to make a mutual aid hub in your campaign office with loads of

To me this is still one of the most intense boss fights in Metal Slug X. There is a constant sense of urgency as you juggle shooting down at it, while climbing as fast as possible so it doesn't eat you along with the tower. It also shoots missiles to dodge and has a massive laser blast.

Metal Slug X screenshot with Marco climbing a tower as a giant mechanical set of jaws consumes the tower and rises.

I have a lot of gaming handhelds from when I used to do YouTube and I'm finally updating my game room to organize them better. I found a large set of cubbies with transparent doors that were made for sneakerheads, but it helps a lot to have each shelf dedicated to a single type of handheld.

I think we should treat taxes like stat penalties in RPGs only based on income instead of levels. After a certain point you get diminishing returns to the point where you could be a millionaire, but then you're taxed so heavily that it isn't worth becoming a billionaire.

In the Japanese version of Star Saver (Rubble Saver) you play as Connie instead of Kevin. Imagine putting in that work to convert it just so a dumb-ass eight year old wouldn't go "Woah, robots! Eewwww, a girl!? No thanks, I'll get Metroid II instead."
