Sad news about Franco Baresi. Italy lost, but there’s plenty of YouTube videos of his performance against Romario in the 1994 World Cup final. He was 34 and struggling with a knee injury which later needed surgery but he was fantastic. It’s a great watch.

My favourite block was from the actor and writer Paterson Joseph. He wrote a book on the 18th century composer and abolitionist Ignatius Sancho. He really saw his arse when I suggested a loan move to Dortmund might have sorted him out and been just the tonic he needed. Touchy.
