....I worked at SN for 7 years. At the END OF THAT TIME, I made as much as the CEO got AS A RAISE. Literally half of that amount, the amount she got AS A RAISE, would help these writers so much, writers making PEANUTS. And yet? Silence.

The changes in our latest proposal mark a less than $40,000 increase in salary costs for the Society compared to their previous offer. That's for all 27 guild members over the full 3-year contract.

The wonderful writers @sn-media-guild.bsky.social have been waiting on a fair contract almost long enough to gestate a baby elephant (620 days). They have neither a contract NOR a baby elephant. All they want is a contract, to be paid for their amazing expertise.

Our CEO @mayaajmera.bsky.social made over $600K in 2023. And yet here we are, on #strike for fair compensation so we can pay our bills. What gives, @society4science.bsky.social?

That first number is more than some employees’ entire salaries! Our employees deserve a transparent and equitable pay structure.

This comes after our members voted to reject the Society’s latest contract proposal. Our members previously voted by 92% to authorize a strike against the @society4science.bsky.social, if necessary.
