The rise is because of adult children who don't move out of their parents' homes. That is a natural inflection point in historical housing consumption. When children become adults they form new households. 1/

I know I have been a consistent harrumpher about AI so feel free to ignore this, but I find it kind of remarkable that after four years of massive growth, intense development by millions of our finest minds, and literally trillions of dollars of investment, Claude Opus 4.7 still can't count.

If Waymo is doing 250k rides per week with only 2k vehicles on the road, call it 125 per vehicle week, if a ride is ten bucks (conservative) and a car costs 120k to build (probably conservative), the payback period for that car is ~2 years. If cost comes down to 60k, you're talking one year. 💰 🤑 💸
