1 billion plastic nurdles spilt into the Tyne after a container ship and crane collision this week. 25 tonnes of plastic straight into the mouth of the Tyne and North Sea. The local councils and surfers collectives have been amazing- but the environment agency not so much.

Digital is not the messiah, it’s a fundamental part of any functioning countries infrastructure. Like roads, water or impartial broadcasting. I really wish successive governments would stop treating it like a sexy new toy.

I’ve seen folk caught up in drugs go to prison- it feels like current processes are *designed* to keep them in a prison loop. Lengthy pre-trial periods, unable to work for family members, Friday releases with no benefits until Monday… all anti patterns to those that would actually help ex offenders
