Today I discovered that my oldest cat does not like Anton Webern. She has a high tolerance of all sorts of music, but so far Papuan stick music and Anton Webern have both met with absolute disapproval. The stick music freaked her out completely, Webern just made her scowl and stop purring.

My seagull just landed on my veranda, and I got him some water. He actually ignored the food I gave him, and went right for the water. He's been drinking and drinking. Really drives home that we're in a heatwave here. He's such an incredible guy. I've known him for five or six years now.
