A YouTuber summed up the difference between drawing and painting, "Drawing is containing form with line; painting is suggesting form with value." Value here measures distinctness. If two different colors have the same value, in a grayscale image the two would be indistinguishable.

Classic #Superman PR sounds like circus hype never meant to be taken literally: "Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive. He can bend steel in his bare hands, leap tall buildings in a single bound..." "Man, I saw #LarryBird hit 300 threes in a row." "Don't lie."

I'm kind of out halfway through Season 4 of #Reacher. It feels as if the al-Qaeda villains from GONE TOMORROW have been replaced by Indonesians. Yes, Indonesian terrorism is real. I just dislike fiction prolonging the stereotype of Asian villains. It's not a simple swap.

I've been thinking about how movie and TV adaptations deviate from the book or previous movie and TV source material. I think it's largely done to offer something surprising. If you know the source, do you really want an adaptation that follows it to the letter? That's not creative for the adapter.

I appreciate that YouTube's AI label shows once you play a video. I'd also like "AI" to be added to the titles of these videos, so I wouldn't have to play them to find out.

While the lack of nearby humanoid life in outer space lets me down, I think it can and should motivate us to try and prolong Earth's resources and resolve interpersonal issues. We're all we've got.

Is it really a win that MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE is No. 1 on Prime Video? Doesn't that mean it's included w/ everyone's subscriptions so it's not gaining Amazon/MGM any money?

Having posted a bit about realism in fiction, I think one of the best things about fiction is it can completely ignore current events and (in)famous people. Maybe that's why some of those ppl want to ban books.
