Im not gonna try to know what George RR Martin was thinking but if I wrote books and then found out oh I can just ‘consult’ on movies and TV shows I’d say fuck it and never finish the books too
I hate when a directors movie kinda rhymes with their name. Now anytime you say “Lance Oppenheim’s PRIMETIME” you sound like fucking Dr Seuss
I’m surprised Cameron Bailey didn’t executive decision the new Daily Wire movie into TIFF Centrepiece
Shri Thanedar campaign ads were like peak era Adult Swim commercials
It must have been fucking crazy to live through The Great Blizzard of 1899
I put off getting a new laptop for forever but mine just died. Sometimes the machine decides not you 😐
Old news for those of us who have seen this masterpiece a thousand times (and I'm rewatching it for the thousand-and-oneth time) but they absolutely fucking nailed the old man makeup for DeNiro in ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA.
I started getting followed by some "film festivals" and "writing festivals" and thought "oh, these are cool!" Then I looked a little closer. They're all part of a network that preys on writers, charging us for reviews, and feeding our stuff into slop generators. So I made a list.👋🏻🖕🏻😠
Martin Ritt's THE LONG HOT SUMMER builds up such great character dynamics and really difficult conflict for 3/4ths of the movie and just completely flattens itself towards the end. Total deflation. Not surprised this never got the appreciation & legacy of CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF
Well, it’s invoicing day, and since they’re really apparently not going to pay me for something I wrote for them two months ago, I guess today is the day to post about how @vulture.com fucks over its film freelancers. Long (sorry) thread, with receipts:
There are 118 feature films, plus galas, talks, podcast recordings, and more at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival. Our guide to the movies and events worth lining up for.
David Lynch saying Herzog’s STROSZEK had a major impact on him makes perfect sense
LeFraud’s decision making M Night Shyamalan start posting AI slop say it ain’t so
LeBron's going to Philly. I did this spreadsheet a while ago and the Sixers were the only team I listed as "YES" for "Can He Win a Ring Here?". No brainer if that's the main goal imo
Made a spreadsheet for LeBron's free agency
Before HER PRIVATE HELL they subjected us to the IT ENDS trailer, which quoted 5 letterboxd users and I was reaching for an imaginary gun

Had to write a bit about TARANTELLA (which is free on... uh... Reddit lol) and what early fascinations clearly made Chris Nolan's brain tick. For FANGORIA: www.fangoria.com/christopher-...
Christopher Nolan's Short Horror Film From 1989 Gave Hints Of What Was To Come
THE ODYSSEY director’s short horror film contains many elements that hint at what would eventually become defining characteristics of Christopher Nolan’s narrative style.

The Andrew & Tristan Tate trial is one of those trials where if the judge or jury just pulled out guns and shot these guys 10 times without going through any legal proceedings, no one would complain
I have seen none of my mutuals even on twitter commenting on that new Avengers trailer even for like quote-tweet dunks or snarky comments. It may truly be over, we may yet see this scourge of a "multiverse" fade into irrelevance where even insulting it isn't worth our time.
skipping TIFF for the first time in 4 years. Things I will miss in order: 1. drinking late at night w/ friends and wondering if I'll wake up on time for the next days screenings 2. the entire Magical Taste of China menu 3. the movies I guess
My sister made some dishes from KIKI’S DELIVERY SERVICE
I am watching THE ODYSSEY in triptych style projection on 3 sides of the Bass Pro Shops pyramid
