I still believe a lot of people read about post-black plague Europe and decided its economic acceleration was due to killing off a big chunk of surplus population. We see echos of it today when the right talks about a post-deportation economy.

Watching Republicans re-litigate the COVID response, it remains clear to me that one reason they view the pandemic response as a failure is that too many of the people that they wanted to die are still alive.

So even tho im in a bumfuck town we have a library and librarians are always cool. He recommended checking out the mastodon album and while it is a fun metal album I don’t think it really captured the proper slog of reading this danged tome

RIP to a big inspiration of mine. If you want to really get into the weeds of craft vs. art looking at the intentionality of his work is a good starting point. We only met a couple times but he was always very chill and open to discussing process, equipment, etc.
