Earlier this year, a tripod fell over and broke the lower glass in one of the living room doors. I took out the loose glass and taped/papered over the rest. Today, I made a temporary fix. I'll get real glass eventually, but for now the corrugated plastic will do the job. Being handy is nice.

My cat's hair is long and extremely fine, so it gets matted pretty easily, even when he's grooming well. The vet recommended a ¥100 flea comb to help pick apart matted hair. It works well! Reduces the need to cut anything out, which is always risky since cat skin is so easy to cut accidentally.

Every one of these new policies is going to backfire in a big way. Japan *needs* immigrants, but current leadership is simultaneously making it clear that they are fundamentally xenophobic and racist, implementing policies that please only the ignorant and bigots, benefit nobody, and hurt many.

I've started going to every used book store I pass looking for English language children's books. Usually a few in any given shop, but so far haven't found anything I wanted to buy. I need books to read to my baby, but I have standards!

Lost my keys this morning. Retraced my steps twice, then went back to the stores I'd gone to. They were at the service counter at CORSO! My sketch of my keyring helped with the recovery process.

Screw it. I didn't want to sleep, anyway.

Once again, dinner was a mountain of vegetables plus tofu and some basic seasoning. All I've eaten this week is tons of green vegetables, tofu, avocado, nuts, kimchi, olives, and a few hard boiled eggs. It's boring but not disagreeable and I feel great.
